Dyno pricing has not aged well

Heroku charges premium rates for modest memory. The same 4 GB of RAM costs a small fraction here.

No 512 MB ceiling

Standard dynos cap at 1 GB before a large jump to Performance tiers. Our plans step 512 MB → 1 → 2 → 4 → 8 GB at linear prices.

Database

Postgres is not an add-on tax

Managed Postgres starts at $5/mo with nightly backups included rather than being priced as a separate premium product.

Dyno for box against Heroku

Plans are matched on CPU and memory, not on marketing tier names. Where a provider has no exact match, the nearest plan that meets the workload is used and the difference is stated.

Heroku migration questions

Not directly. Most Heroku applications build cleanly from automatic language detection or a Dockerfile. Unusual buildpacks are the one case worth checking in a migration review first.

They become environment variables, encrypted at rest and write-only after saving. We never ask you to send secrets by email.

Yes — a pg_dump restore into managed Postgres, validated before any DNS change. Large databases get a scheduled short write-freeze window rather than a vague promise of zero downtime.

Yes. Scheduled jobs run on a cron expression per service, with logs in the same place as your deploys.

Not yet — preview environments are planned and not available. If review apps are central to your workflow, that is a genuine gap today.
